Did anyone see it coming?  I doubt it.  Not even  the Aggies saw this happening.  After losing to Alabama 59-0 and squeaking by Louisiana-Monroe 21-16 the Texas A&M Aggies ran up 41 points against number 3 ranked Auburn and hung on for a 41-38 win. Auburn lost three fumbles which helped but that's part of the game.  So the upshot is, Auburn is out of the playoff hunt or at least should be.

At the LSU-Alabama game which "Bama won 20-13 in overtime the officials blew the game.  In my opinion the officials cost the Tigers the upset.  With LSU driving and the time running out there was some pushing and shoving by both teams at the end of a play.  The ball was on the Alabama 6 yard line with 1:13 left to play.  One official threw a flag and an unsportsmanlike penalty was called against LSU.  If a penalty was going to be called it should have been on both teams.  Instead of having the ball on the 6 it was moved back to the 21.  Instead of having a chance to score a touchdown the Tigers eventually kicked a field goal which Alabama matched later to send the game into overtime.

TCU put it to Kansas State 41-30 and the game wasn't as close as the score.  TCU dominated the game running for 334 yards against one of the better defenses against the run.  The Big 12 now has co-leaders with Baylor and TCU tied for first.  Baylor defeated TCU in coming from way back to win.  I think TCU is the better team but head to head Baylor won.  Baylor looked impressive in their 48-14 win over Oklahoma.  Arizona State cored 55 points while giving in  up 31 their win over Notre Dame.  Remember that without a bad call by an official on the last play of the game the Irish would have defeated #2 ranked Florida State.  With the wins by Baylor and Arizona State they are still in the playoff picture.

Oregon got some help from Utah and defeated the Utes 51-27.  Go to http://espn.go.com/ and scroll down to Utahs' celebration blunder.  Win will the players figure it out?  Play the game and worry about being clever after the game is over.It was an interesting day of football and my four playoff teams at this moment are among these teams:  Miss State, Florida State, Oregon, TCU, Alabama, Baylor, Arizona State and possibly Ohio State although the Big Ten is weak this year.

I'm 9-6 going into todays' games.  Only one of the games I lost was close (LSU/Alabama).  The others were routs and I was way off on those picks.
