I watched "The Five" yesterday afternoon and Greg Gutfeld ran a clip of Bill Clinton on a late night show. Here is the clip http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/the-five/videos#/v/3991674654001/p/1040983441001 or go to Fox News and scroll to near the bottom of the page and you'll find it. Bill Clinton, whatever you think of him is a centrist politically. He worked with the Republican controlled Congress on welfare if you remember. This morning I was thinking about what he said and it is so true. This is one reason we need to realize we are at war. The double standard he talks about is a great way to define the situation. Now Obama and he flunkies can't face the fact that the terrorists are Muslim. They may not be the same type of Muslim he is but they are killing in the name of Islam.
I have come up with another way to look at why I'm conservative and not a liberal. To me liberals are mainly idealists, at least politically. They will never be satisfied with any country they live in. That's why they will always have a cause. The world isn't and won't ever be ideal. I really don't know how they can be truly happy. Things are always not up to their thinking of how things should be.
Conservatives are realists. They live in the real world. They understand that nothing is perfect. The conservative can accept things even if they aren't perfect. They don't want to make everyone else think and speak the way they do. It's okay if liberals think differently as long as they don't force their beliefs on conservatives . The use of government to force all of us to live under laws the idealists think are good for everyone is wrong. Government shouldn't be used to change behaviors in a free country. People should have the right to make poor choices. We all have and hopefully have learned from them. Government should be for protection both home and abroad. Taking care of the big things not individual behavior.
I'm satisfied where I am politically and glad that I can see the real world in which I live. My only concern is there are so many that don't live in the real world.
