It looks like TCU should get into the playoffs.  Miss State got beat and should drop out.  Baylor was life and death to defeat 4-8 Texas Tech by two points.  Ohio State had their hands full with Michigan who ended their season 5-7.  Ohio State has defeated one team that was ranked in the playoff rankings of last week (Michigan State)  TCU has defeated 3 teams and lost to Baylor by 3 points.  Baylor is ranked 7th (TCU beat Minnesota, Oklahoma and Kansas State)

The SEC East made themselves look like an easy division as Georgia, Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina all lost to ACC teams.  I watched the Georgia/Georgia Tech game and enjoyed it. The lead went back and forth and finally after a mistake by the Tech quarterback Georgia scored a touchdown with 18 seconds left in the game to take a 24-21 lead.  The kickoff was returned to the 43 yard line and then the Tech QB ran for 21 yards to set up a 53 yard field goal with 4 seconds left.  The field goal attempt was good to send the game into overtime.  Georgia Tech had the ball first and scored a TD but the extra point was blocked.  Now all Georgia had to do was score a TD and kick the extra point but on second and goal from the nine Tech intercepted a pass and won the game.  Fun and entertaining game.

Florida State won another close one defeating Florida 24-19.  USC ran and passed they way to a 49-14 win over Notre Dame.  That's a nice rebound after losing big to UCLA.  Alabama outscored Auburn 55-44 and will meet Missouri for the SEC title.

Instead of waiting to be a Monday morning quarterback I'll make my comments now.  Once again the old dreaded "prevent defense" reared its ugly head.  I doubt if it would have made any difference in the outcome of the game but....Michigan was leading 14-7 with 2:15 left in the half and it looked like to me they changed their defense and went to a three man front.  Ohio State went down the field and scored a touchdown.  Up to that point the Michigan defense wasn't allowing Ohio State many yards.

The last game of which I watched just a little was Oregon having their way with their rival Oregon State.  If they can defeat Arizona in the PAC 12 Championship game they should get into the playoffs.  Right now my final four teams are Alabama, Florida State, Oregon and TCU.  First in would be Baylor.

It's all football today.  I'll leave the current events alone for the weekend.
