I just don't know where to begin.  I'll start with the important stuff.  I'm now 14-10 with my picks.  Not very good but fun anyway.  Good games on tap for today and tomorrow.  I'll be rooting for TCU today and Baylor tomorrow.

We made it home last evening around six.  The trip was fine but we had a misty rain most of the way once we got past El Paso.  It's great to see gas prices coming down.  While we were on our trip they came down from the time we traveled west to our return trip. It sure made the trip that much easier financially.

While I was in California I thought about how much the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas control the entire state.  I think they should divide the state into about three or four autonomous regions to give the rest of the people a voice.  I even thought about dividing up the United States into maybe four or five regions. Both of the coasts could be separate entities.  The south and middle America could also be on their own.  Citizens could live where the people that believe like them are in the majority.

Maybe even a better idea would be to downsize the federal government.  Let the people of each state determine their own fate. Allow the states to take charge of many things the feds are doing now.  By doing this you could eliminate many departments of the central government.  Right away my mind goes to the EPA, Education, IRS etc.  Allow the states to govern themselves, collecting taxes for the Federal Government and doing other things the feds seem to be incapable of doing, even going so far as to privatizing distribution of welfare and social security checks.  It would also save the country billions by eliminating useless departments.  I know I haven't thought this through all the way but I think by tweaking the idea here and there it might be possible.  At least something along that line makes sense to me so therefore will never be done.  I hope I at least got you thinking.

Have safe New Year's eve and a Happy New Year.
