Santa Anita was beautiful as one looked out into the infield with the palm trees swaying a little and the foothills in the background.  Snow is still on Mt. Baldy and added to the beauty.  Now the ugly part.  I wasn't close to having a winner yesterday.  Well I had a couple of winners but they were in exactas and trifectas.  I couldn't get two horses to win and place in the same race.  But the good news is my wife has decided that the trip to the beach is not as necessary as she thought.  She asked me if I wanted to go out to the track again today so I mulled it over for a split second and said yes.  I get a chance to redeem myself and get some of my money back.  I haven't seen the entries yet so I don't know if I like the card or not.  I didn't like yesterday's but that didn't stop me from playing the races.  Since my buddies have passes the only cost to me is the Racing Form so I'm not out the expense of parking, entrance fee, program etc.  I found out that our ex-trainer retired so we don't get any tips anymore.  Wish me some good luck.

The ballgames played yesterday didn't go the way I thought so I was 1 and 2 for the day.  I'm now at 7-6 for the "bowl season" and haven't really cared about these early games.  There are a bunch today and I won't be watching them but come the 31st and New Year's day I'll be attentive.

No politics today.  Well, I will mention that we are one day closer to getting rid of the worst president in the country's history.  I guess there's a silver lining in most things if you look to find it.
