We went to see The Symphony of the Hills orchestra and their "Pop" program last night.  What a wonderful program.  They played a wide range of popular music from each decade of the 20th century.  From ragtime to Big Band to the Beatles and on to Michael Jackson.  I had to keep reminding myself not to sing along and ruin it for people around me.  We saw many friends that were also attending.  I think we might go see a program on songs of Hank Williams.  We here in Kerrville are lucky to have such a nice venue for concerts and plays.  We've seen some very good concerts in our time here.

On the political front I see where Barbara Boxer in not going to run again.  It's about 20 years too late for me but at least she's getting out.  It's just too bad that California will send another tax and spend liberal or is it progressive now, to D.C..

On the horizon is a possible federal 12 cent tax increase on gasoline at the pump.  At first I thought here we go again raise taxes, but after thinking about it, if all that tax money goes into a fund to repair and maintain the roads and bridges across the nation I can buy it.  Back in the day, California put all the gasoline tax money in a fund to take care of the roads but the Assembly raided it and the roads went to pot.  If the Feds leave it alone and don't raid it this might be a good idea.  It would create a lot of jobs which might stir the economy. It would seem to me that travelers wouldn't mind it too much if they get to travel on good roads.
