Yesterday I decided to take some pictures of the lake and the surrounding area to help you get the feel of where I go fishing.  The top picture was taken from the dashboard of the truck as I arrived.  The remainder of the pictures as you can see are of the lake and the surrounding mountains.  Oh yeah, I took a picture of a fish that really gave me a battle.  It's interesting that these fish are full of fight and you aren't even fighting the current as you would if you caught them in a river or stream.

There wasn't a good hatch yesterday and the spots that I like to fish were all taken.  I went to the east side of the lake and learned why nobody is fishing there.  The weeds are so thick and almost out of the water that makes fishing it almost impossible.  I kept going and fished where a small creek enters the lake.  I picked up three there and then continued on.  I fished the cove and caught some more while losing a couple on the way in..  I also missed several hookups.  I brought the line in to check the hook and the point of the hook had broken off.  That makes it very difficult to hook'em.  A change of flies and a move to another spot brought in another fish and by then it was time to go.  All in all not a bad day.

This morning I have a few things to do around the rig and then it's bridge in the afternoon.  That's followed by a pot luck here in the park.  The potlucks have been so good this year.  There are a lot of good cooks here.

The weather forecast for the next week or so has thunder showers predicted for every afternoon. As long as the mornings are good I'll fish most days.  I don't mess with thunder and lightning with a rod in my hand.  That reminds me, we were in the clubhouse the other day playing games and there was aloud clap of thunder that shook the building and startled all of us.  It sounded like it was directly over us and I don't know where the lightning hit.

In politics, it looks like the Senate might pass the ball to the House by passing a watered down health care bill so it can be hatched out by members of both houses.  Earn your money people.  You could make it easy and just give the public the same plan you all have.
