All Catholic conservatives watch out.  The pope is showing his displeasure with American Catholics, especially conservatives.  He's calling you "deplorables" in different words.  He is pushing the church to the left.  Pope Francis has scolded people for being rich, sided with illegal immigrants and has suggested the church be a refuge for the poor.  Be warned.  Under this pope the church will wing way left as conservative Cardinals have been sidelined in favor of like minded ones.

Our friend Barbara arrived yesterday after a tough drive from Dalhart, Texas.  She had to pull over to the side of the road many times because of heavy blinding rains and heavy fog.  It took her hours longer than it should have.  Luckily she made it without an incident.  She will be here today and leave for Steamboat Springs tomorrow morning.  She and her husband Don along with Carolyn and I, had more fun doing and being together before his death almost six years ago.  I miss him.

I plan on going fishing Wednesday.  It's just a matter of where.  I'm thinking about trying Clear Creek reservoir.  I haven't fished it this summer and who knows what will happen.

It is supposed to be a nice day today with possible thunder showers in the afternoon.  This will be a relief to me as it rained almost all day yesterday.  It's monsoon season here and I'm ready for some dry days.  It's also cool with the highs at around 70.  As I get older I'm usually colder than I was when I was younger.  I have to wear enough clothing to keep me warm.  Instead of wearing a pair of shorts and a tee shirt I must have a sweatshirt or a flannel shirt over the tee.  I also wear a hat not just to keep the sun off my bald head but also to keep my head warm.  And who said getting older was easy?  Whoever it was didn't know what they were talking about.
