Going fishing today!  This has been a summer of not fishing.  Due to my condition in June and July I was not up to fishing.  Then my fishing buddies left for home and I didn't want to go alone.  Then my neighbor Jack said he'd go with me.  He doesn't fish but he carves walking sticks and actually gets more accomplished than I do.  I think he might be a jinx though because the first time he went I hooked five but didn't get any to the net.  The second time I got skunked.  Also Crystal Lake is finished for the summer.  The weeds are high and it isn't fishing well at all.

I'll be doing some fly fishing and using a spinning rod today.  I'm going with Ray in his boat and hopefully I'll catch a few.  The big ones seem to be biting right now so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Ray and I are quite a bit alike when it comes to fishing.  We both love the sport.  When either he or I hook a fish a smile comes on our faces.  I don't know but we can talk fishing or be fishing and it's like we read each others thoughts.  This has brought us close.  I know he prays for my recovery every day.  What a nice thing to do and I appreciate it.

We took our neighbors, Jack and Jacki, out to dinner last night.  We went to Grimos in Salida.  It's a very good Italian restaurant that we've only been to once this year.  I finally got my taste and appetite so this was the first opportunity to go.  We all enjoyed the meal and laughed a lot while we dined.  We made a Wal Mart run before we went to dinner as both Jack and I needed to pick up our medicines.

I better get around as the time is catching up with me.  I'll let you know how the fishing went tomorrow.

Please read the comment on yesterday's blog.  If you can answer this please comment on today's blog and I'll post it on tomorrows blog.
