The bowl procession started yesterday and for some reason I found myself with time to watch. I did go out early to look for some things I can't find at home but had no success. I also filled the gas tank. Here in California the stations are back to having two prices.
One is cash price and the other is for credit cards.
The going rate around here is around $2.75 a gallon.
I found a spot that was as low as $2.49 cash but I paid $2.57 a gallon. Now it's funny that I find that price high when two years ago when we came out to spend a week in Cambria, California gas prices were over $5 dollars. It's all relative I guess.
The bowl games were pretty interesting. I picked three winners and lost two games. In the last game Southern Alabama (my pick) trailed the first 58 and 40 seconds of the game and then went ahead. I thought boy I got this right. Not. It took Bowling Green just 18 seconds to regain the lead. Air Force, Utah and Utah State all dominated their games, while Nevada played give-away when they got in the red zone.
While I'm talking about sports the Spurs have lost four straight. They lost last night to the Mavs by six. I think they will be OK when they all get healthy. They sat Duncan, Ginobili, Green, Splitter, Leonard and Parker last night. Patty Mills hasn't played in one game this year. Let's hope they all get healthy soon.
I must mention the fact that several policemen have been assassinated this week. I want to blame the Mayor of New York and the Obama administration for not speaking out more about our justice system and not supporting the police. It wasn't the police that were breaking the laws in the incidents that have caused these murders. Where has taking personal responsibility gone?
