It seems it comes in threes.  In the last couple of days Dean Smith, Jerry Tarkanian and Bob Simon have died.  If you aren't familiar with these people Dean Smith was a long time basketball coach at North Carolina, Tarkanian a basketball coach at UNLV and Bob Simon a reporter on the TV program "Sixty Minutes".

While I was coaching basketball in California we would take our team to Las Vegas for Tarkanian's summer high school basketball clinic.  We learned a lot while watching the UNLV basketball staff teach our kids.  I think I mentioned the other day that I stole plays and ideas from watching North Carolina on TV.  I'm not real familiar with Bob Simon other than watching a few of his stories on "Sixty Minutes". Condolences to the families of this gentlemen.

The House passed the Pipeline bill sent over from the Senate and now the "I'm right and you all are wrong-in-chief" will probably veto it like the I don't care about jobs man that he is.  Remember all you environmental nuts that if we don't get the oil from Canada China probably will and our standards are a lot stricter than theirs.  Plus the fact that if we do get some it will be shipped by truck which is worse for the environment than the pipeline will be.  We will see what the indecisive man who leads from behind has to say.
