For my foreign readers, you can now have the posts translated into many languages.  Check the column on the right and select the language you want.

There will be lots of chips and salsa eaten today along with gallons of beer consumed and heaven knows what all else.  I imagine hamburgers, hot dogs and several foot long sandwiches will be displayed in homes throughout the country.  It's Super Bowl day.  I wish they would have left the game played in the afternoon (today's game will be) but outdoors.  I like seeing the blue skies or the snow falling on the field.  It was so much prettier when the games were played outside in the daylight.  Now it's domed fields and weather doesn't affect the game like it used to do.  What ever happened to playing football in not perfect conditions.  They do it during the regular season why not in the championship game?  The league probably can't make as much money if the game was played outdoors.  Oh well, millions will watch it today whether it is played outside or inside, daylight or electric lights.  Football fans are loyal and will root for their teams no matter the conditions or locale.

This also will be a day when Millions of dollars will be wagered in Sports Books throughout the country.  Local bookies will probably doing a big business today also.  I worked in a Sports Book years ago and my "bank" for the day ran somewhere in the neighborhood of $35 to $40,000.  (I can't remember exactly)  I was responsible for that amount all during my shift.  Needless to say I was very careful giving change on bets and when I cashed winning tickets.  I hope all you taking wagers and cashing tickets today balance out at the end of the day.

On the political front the House and Senate have passed some bills and now it is time for Hussein Obama to show the public who the party of NO really is.  I think the Senate has done more in one month than it had in years of Harry Reid was leader.  How the media let that go unreported shows how left wing they are.  It will be interesting to see if Hussein Obama was lying when he said he'd veto these bills or just bluffing.  I think if he vetoes the pipeline bill he helps the Republicans in 2016.  He'll come up with some excuse if does veto them and the media will probably swallow it hook, line and sinker.
