Today is Carolyn's birthday.  She's calling the shots and I will do or go anywhere she wants to go.  It looks like we'll be going to San Antonio for most of the day.  We need to take a ride in there anyway so this way we'll take care of some shopping we nee to do and also go to a movie that she wants to see and do dinner afterwards.  Yeah it doesn't sound like much but for us it is.  Date day!  She's the love of my life, my best friend and I don't know what I'd do with out her.

We made a big decision yesterday.  After coffee we went to see a fifth wheel that's on a lot here in town.  Once again we went against our guidelines of length and age.  But we decided that once we get it to Colorado we will leave it on site year round.  We won't tow it back and forth.  Heck I might not tow it there myself.  It's an older Jayco Eagle with four slides and the interior is in excellent shape.  We felt like we were walking into our old one but this one is more spacious.  We talked it over for 20 or 30 minutes before taking the plunge.  It's longer than our old one and with four slides we feel we can entertain in it without feeling cramped.  I'll have to get used to plugging the electric cord into the 50 amp socket as this one has two air conditioners.  I think our decision was the right one only time will tell.  I know after I tow it this coming May that after that I'll just be driving the truck up each May and that will take some stress off as I continue to get older.

It's still on the dealers lot being detailed and I'll have them deliver it to our storage area.  I need to have a "capture plate" welded to the hitch on the 5th wheel before I'll feel safe hauling it.  I'll have to see if I can find a welder that has a portable set up.  I'm sort of jazzed about the entire thing and am already looking forward to the summer.
